Hikes and walking trails
The local area offers numerous spectacular hikes and walking trails—everything from world-famous Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) to some hidden gems just a few minutes ride from the glamping site. Here, we'll tell you about some wonderful places to visit in Ryfylke :
Preikestolen
Duration: 4-5 hours.
Difficulty: Moderate - challenging
Only one hour drive from NorGlamp you can start a spectacular hike up to Preikestolen !
According to Visit Norway Preikestolen is one of Norway’s most famous mountain hikes with more than 300 000 nature-loving hikers coming every year. Preikestolen is a steep cliff which rises 604 metres above Lysefjorden with a flat platform on top. The view from it is absolutely breathtaking. No wonder some of the worlds most mindblowing pictures are taken from here.

Randåsen
Duration: 2-3 hours.
Difficulty: Medium.
Driving time from NorGlamp: 15 minutes.
Randåsen is the highest point on Randøy island, 373 m asl. After walking up a scenic path to the mountain, you can enjoy a fantastic view of numerous islands in Ryfylke. You also get the view of Stavanger, Fister and Lauvåsen top which you can enjoy sitting on a bench.
How to get there: when driving out onto the road from NorGlamp turn right. In 7-8 kilometers you will see the info board showing the way forward. Parking for 4-5 cars.
Lauvåsen
Duration: 1-1.5 hours.
Difficulty: Easy.
Driving time from NorGlamp: 15 minutes.
Lauvåsen is visible all over Ryfylke whether you come by car or boat. At the top you are 502 meters above sea level, with a scenic view of large parts of Ryfylke. The mast at the top is about 60 meters high and is an important telecommunication facility.
How to get there: when you drive from NorGlamp, cross the bridge and drive towards Fister until you reach the store. There you turn off towards the school and drive 3 km up towards Solbjergardene until you see a small parking lot. From there you follow an old trail until you enter the Televerket gravel road, which leads you up to the very top.
Eventyrskogen
Duration: 1 hour.
Difficulty: Easy, suitable for kids.
Driving time from NorGlamp: 30 minutes.
Eventyrskogen (The Fairy Tale Forest) is located in Bønardalen in Årdal. Along a circular trail through the spruce forest, woodcarver Eldfinn Austigard has placed dozens of wooden figures from various fairy tales and legends.
The walk among the trees in this mystical forest takes about an hour and is well-suited for the whole family.
